Things I Am Loving Right Now…(25)

by enthusiasticrunner on September 17, 2012

1. Homeland. If you haven’t watched this show yet, please stop whatever you are doing, call in sick for work, and download all of Season 1 from iTunes. You can thank me later when you are counting down the days until Sept 30th when the new season starts.

2. Oiselle Roga Shorts. Thank you Meggie for introducing these to me. And thank you Mac for letting me try on a pair for sizing purposing while out in Seattle. I have been getting a lot of compliments on them (so basically I haven’t and I can’t take them off). Once you give me a compliment on an outfit, I will wear it everyday. Example: I once wore a work dress 5 days in a row after receiving a compliment (I wore different suit jackets on top of course.  Keep it classy.).  So, for friends in Connecticut, who were asking about my shorts, you can purchase them HERE.

3. Divergent by Veronica Roth. A little disappointed in the ending, but other than that a great book. I couldn’t put it down. I do love a good Young Adult Fiction book. Thanks for the rec, Nicole.

4. The Robot. Underrated Dance Move in my opinion.

Meggie and I doing our pre-race Robot Dance. Helps with PRs.

5. Last Long Run before the Chicago Marathon. I ran 21 Mile Run on Sunday (15 miles with Laura) in 3:11! I feel ready for the marathon (more thoughts on that this week).  Here I am at Mile 15 right before I said Goodbye to Laura. (PS – I’m wearing Oiselle Roga Shorts. Compliments are welcome in the comment section. Just kidding!)

Why do I look scared? I probably just miss Laura already.

6. Everpurse: New Phone-Charging Purse Provides Practical Solution As An Accessory. This is really, really cool. You can back the company on KickStart HERE.

7. MUST READ: Be An Inbox Hero: The Ultimate Guide To Mastering Gmail.

8. 8 Guys to Avoid at a College Sports Bar. Watch this video. Hysterical.

9. CADBURY EGGS are BACK. So much for not gaining weight during this taper.

10. Country Song of the Week: Sarah Darling – “Home to Me”.

What are you loving right now?

those shorts are adorable! question though… do they bunch up or cause any chafing?! let me know.

also i totally trust your TV recs. working on getting into homeland.

divergent was good, addicting. are you going to read insurgent?

sooooo excited for you to run CHI! :)

enthusiasticrunner September 19, 2012 at 1:33 pm

You will LOVE Homeland. We can discuss everything when you are in NYC!

enthusiasticrunner September 19, 2012 at 1:38 pm

no bunching – and as for chafing, I always POUR Bodyglide on my body (no matter what), so therefore I haven’t had any issues!

Ricole Runs September 17, 2012 at 11:06 pm

Did you order Insurgent yet???!!! CADBURY EGGS ARE BACK????? WHERE??? And those rogas are VERY slimming and flattering. :-) You are ready to KILL Chicago!

enthusiasticrunner September 19, 2012 at 1:34 pm

Picking up Insurgent from the library today. I don’t know what I am going to do after I finish and then have to wait for the third book…

Celia September 17, 2012 at 11:10 pm

checking out divergent. I love a good dystopia book. my favorite genre!

WAIT! How are cadbury eggs back NOW??

Nice job on your last long run. Looking good for a great marathon :) The shorts look great on you! I tried the long version ( the only ones they had) when i was at home and they were not good but maybe i would like the shorter ones. I need to maybe borrow yours to try them on for size…

enthusiasticrunner September 19, 2012 at 1:35 pm

You definitely need the shorter ones! I feel like they are totally your style.

I’m loving so many of these things too! Sarah Darling’s song I heard earlier and loved. I also love Divergent, you should read Insurgent (the sequel) I think it’s even better. And this is now the second post about the Roga shorts I’ve read in the past hour, I really need to check out these shorts!

Book I am loving: “10 Girls to Watch,” by Charity Shumway. The author is one of my former co-workers from Glamour magazine and the novel is based on her experience tracking down all the past winners of Glamour’s Top 10 College Women scholarship competition for its 50th anniversary. The book is very Devil Wears Prada-ish in that any woman who has lived in New York as an early-20something could relate, though there is no psycho bosslady in this one.

Country song I am loving: “Take a Little Ride with You,” Jason Aldean. The CMA Music Festival broadcast was on last night, but my TV died over the weekend! SADNESS.

Random thing I am loving: temps in the 60s at run-time here in Houston. I can finally run semi-fast again, yesss.

I love my new Oiselle distance shorts! They are not too short or tight and I can fit my keys and plenty of fuel in the zip pockets.

enthusiasticrunner September 19, 2012 at 1:39 pm

Ohhhh I am putting that book on Hold at the Library right now! What color in the distance shorts did you get? I’m liking that deep purple on the website…

Emilia @ Run for Your Life September 19, 2012 at 5:13 pm

Black, of course, it goes with everything. But I’ll probably get another pair in purple soon enough. :)

12 days until Homeland. 12 days until Homeland. 12 days until Homeland.

Also, so the decision is made on Chicago? Did I miss that? AND second to Christine’s question about bunching and chaffing? Also, how would they look on someone without thin legs?! Because the Lulu shorts just don’t work for me…

enthusiasticrunner September 19, 2012 at 1:37 pm

Also – no bunching – and as for chafing, I always POUR Bodyglide on my body (no matter what), so therefore I haven’t had any issues!

I am OBSESSED with my Rogas too!!! I seriously can’t stop wearing them! They should definitely be washed, but I don’t ever want to wear anything else. They of course, look great on you! :)

Rogas are the perfect shorts! I have the long ones and I recommend them to EVERYONE!

elizabeth September 18, 2012 at 4:11 pm

LOVE my rogas too! even though i can’t run in them right now, i wear them everywhere! and ditto on homeland! i would love to see your tv spreadsheet that you mentioned on twitter. :) also anxiously awaiting dexter, revenge, vampire diaries, grey’s (simply because i’ve been watching since day 1).

enthusiasticrunner September 19, 2012 at 1:43 pm

spreadsheet will be going up tomorrow! dude TV is my life. I justify it because I run…normal right?

Katie September 19, 2012 at 11:33 am

Nice long run! Looks like you’re all set for Chicago! I just ran my marathon this past weekend in the rogas and I dig ‘em! I really would like to watch Homeland, but we don’t get Showtime. It sounds awesome, though!

enthusiasticrunner September 19, 2012 at 1:40 pm

Highly recommend downloading Homeland on iTunes…its about $1.99 an episode (12 episodes) but COMPLETELY WORTH IT.

Susan - Nurse on the Run September 19, 2012 at 10:56 pm

Meggie September 20, 2012 at 8:08 am
