One week post marathon. How am I feeling? Pretty Tired.
While I took it easy last week running wise, I signed up for two races over the weekend (I don’t know what I was thinking about when I did this a couple of months ago). Two races a week after a marathon? Super smart Jocelyn…Real Genius.
These two races are part of my 9 plus 1 Guaranteed Entry into the NYC 2013 Marathon, so I am not really racing them.
So when I woke up Saturday morning, six days post marathon, the last thing I wanted to do was run a 10K in Central Park. Thank Goodness that Gia and Meggie were racing, and therefore I had people to meet on race day.
I ran (literally) into Amanda around mile 3, and we ran together until the 5.5 mile marker. That held me together until the end of the race. Nothing like a 10K on 5 hours of sleep.
Afterwards, Meggie and I walked 4 miles home (nothing like living in NYC), which was nice because it was a gorgeous day out.
Then, I had a Scavenger Hunt in the Lower East Side. Which I didn’t really know what to expect, however…IT. WAS. AWESOME.
Here are the highlights:
1. Get a photo with your team in a bathtub. CHECK.
John, Myself, and Susan
3. Plank on a Mailbox. This counts as a #plankaday right?
The Scavenger Hunt was super fun even though we came in 7th place out of 8 teams. Sad face. And we had our own personal photographer. NBD.
That was just my Saturday. Sunday I ran race #2 (4 miler) and went to Soulcycle. Then tonight Sam and I tried out Crossfit (which was a super beginner class), and I didn’t die! Hooray.
Now I feel like I need a weekend break to rest from my crazy weekend…do you ever feel like that?? Weekends need to be 4 days.

I wish every day was the weekend. No, I would never be bored.
That looked like fun! Nothing like finding a random bathtub and asking to take a picture in it.
Reading this made me tired! Cute bunny though!
Why are we both doing thumbs up? SP.
I’m always tired post-marathon!
You’re “liking” each other in real life! Shameless!
You forgot to point out that you also lost the Best Drinkers award. DOUBLE WHAMMY.
So glad you could come
that s. hunt looks like so much fun!! Wow you are doing so much post-marathon!! I’m still attempting to run, but lack all the energy! I wonder when it comes back!
Totally digging the mailbox plank. Fun!
RANDOM BATHTUB FOR THE WIN. Or seventh place. Whatever.
Jealous that you hang with Meggie and Susan, love them!!
Scavenger Hunt looks so fun! I’m basically in awe of you being so active after your marathon. CrossFit post marathon = rock star runner status!
I’ve always wanted to do one of those urban scavenger hunt things. They look like so much fun! I love your crazy photos.
Congrats on running two races and walking around the city all day the week after your marathon. That deserves a medal all of its own, I think!
I always feel like I need a weekend to get it together after a weekend…and a vacation whenever I return from a vacation
