I have about 8 blog posts saved in “draft form” right now because I think they are all horrible posts. Most of them are not about running, and non-running posts often make me nervous because: (1) I know that I am a terrible write (I’m blaming it on my Dyslexia – which may or may not be one of my “draft posts”) and (2) I cringe at the thought of re-reading any of my personal posts (I seriously can not go back and re-read anything I’ve written. I basically think that old blog posts magically dissappear once you post a new one. That’s a fact, right?).
I think its incredible scary to write about your own life on your blog (and I can’t believe some people do it DAILY and as a JOB). While I do write some personal things on here (other than running), the bottom line is if you really knew what was going on in my mind 24/7, this blog would not be called “Enthusiastic Runner”. I would have to rename it to: “Mental-Breakdown-At-Any-Moment Runner”. And it would be a train wreck of a blog.
Anyway, so with that, I wanted to share a couple of links from blogs/websites of personal stories that I think you should check out:
LINKS I LOVE:
1. Why Women Still Can’t Have it All. (via The Atlantic)
2. Rules From My Dad that Have Become My Own. (via Jenny Paxton)
3. Lauren Fleshman refuses to let tribulations keep her from Olympic Trials. (via NBC)
4. Tear Jerker of a Story. Also my new athlete crush is Boyd Martin…
What are some links/blogs/stories you are loving right now?

YES. People would not want to actually know what is going on in my head. Although to be honest a lot of the people who post everyday about their life, well… their portrayal of their “life” is so obviously fabricated it is not even funny. I actually think some of those people who are constantly optimistic are the most messed up people.
You are honest and I like that. Even if you don’t write about your actual life that much. I find that so much more refreshing. Me? I will stick to just writing about running…
Also I love your links. You supply me with 99% of my daily reading material.
I feel the same exact way! I have so many “personal” posts that I want to write, but I know they won’t come out the way I want them too. So, they sit in my mind as draft posts until I actually muster up the courage to write one of them.
A good friend from back home just sent me the Atlantic article which I proceed to send on to two other friends. Great read. def “links I love” worthy!
I always have ideas of things to write that are like “meggies too many thinks and such,” but I’m afraid they’d come off as rambling and have no point.
You missed one very important link: http://www.womentalksports.com/items/read/3616/1366647
JOCELYN!
You’re an amazing writing. Get outtta town. Tell me your deepest/darkest secrets… or at least that your love life isn’t as pathetic as mine.
OXOX
Christine posted this in one of her recent posts…you two find just great stuff! http://www.marcandangel.com/2012/04/26/you-should-be-able-to-say-about-yourself/
